The Wine
Jim Barry now has legendary status. He was the first qualified winemaker of the Clare Valley, graduating from Adelaide’s renowned Roseworthy College in 1947. He spent the next 22 years working at a cellar in Clare and establishing the valley as a top destination for fine Riesling. After that, he proved to the world that the cooler elevated vineyards also made incredible reds. Hence the fame of his Armagh Shiraz. He set up Jim Barry Wines with his wife in 1969, was joined by his three sons, and now the third generation is involved, too. This superb red pays tribute to the Irish, English, Polish and German immigrants who settled in Clare Valley in the 1850s. Note the capsule displaying various national flags. A superb red for lamb stew.
