From a 150 year old family cellar that regularly scores top points and Golds, this is great new white. Made from Savoie’s unique Jacquère grape, it sings with bright stony lemony freshness, a creamy roundness and a floral, herbal lift. A great find.

The Wine
With mountains and lakes, swathes of vineyards and meadows, Savoie is an idyllic spot on France’s eastern edge – Italy is just over the border. But the region’s wines are almost as obscure as those of the Jura to the north. So Savoie’s unique grape varieties, small family domaines and handcrafted wines are a delicious discovery. Jean Perrier is one such estate. Founded in 1853, it was the first to estate bottle its wines. Now it’s run by the fifth and sixth generations. The vines radiate from a fairytale château perched on top of a hill. Their wines regularly score top marks from Wine Advocate and gain Golds from international competition. This is pure Jacquère and shines with floral, herbal, lemon and mineral tones. Ideal with white meats.
