Since Gascony’s winemakers realised that they could use their grapes to make crisp whites, as well as the Armagnac brandy they’ve for centuries been famous for, good fortune has smiled down. Now the region has a worldwide reputation for dazzling fresh whites. Sauvignon loves the climate here – just taste the grassy fresh notes of this appetising white. You could easily mistake it for the Loire. This new release is from a family estate founded in the 13th century – indeed the watch tower from this era still stands proud. Today the family has 60 hectares of vines growing a range of native and international white grapes. Cool fermented, this is a deliciously aromatic white, great anytime – on a picnic, in the garden and with lighter dishes.
