The Rhône Valley is home to some of the best value reds in France and this Gold medalist is a prime example. It’s from a tiny estate sandwiched between the Grenache hot spots of Châteauneuf du Pape and Le Plan de Dieu. A worthy Gold medal winner.

The Wine
Our Buyers are always on the hunt for a bargain. Rhône aficionado Hilario Ribeiro first tasted this wine by chance in London and made it a priority to track down the producer to see if he could purchase a parcel for customers. Finally he managed to find the winemaker, Patrice Cosrand, who had previously only sold his wines locally. However, after a stream of Gold medal successes he was keen to give his wines a little international exposure. And that means you can enjoy this glorious red today. It’s the classic southern Rhône blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, which gives a rich, peppery wine with lots of red fruit. Though you can enjoy this solo, Patrice suggests serving with grilled lamb and dishes with garlicky tomato sauce.
