The Wine
Who knows when Bordeaux will have another ‘vintage of a lifetime’ like 2010? Why wait to find out? Enjoy tremendous quality at very reasonable prices today in the bottles of Château Sénéjac. It’s one of the better known Crus Bourgeois, located near the vineyards of Margaux and owned by Alfred Tesseron, proprietor, too, of Château Pontet Canet. He lavishes the same care on the Sénéjac wines as he does on those from his Cru Classé Pauillac property, the bottles of which fetch a great deal more. The wine is a blend of both Cabernets, Merlot and Petit Verdot, long matured in oak barriques for 18 months. With lovely ripeness and balance and very fine tannins, it’s a classic Haut Médoc to decant and enjoy with rare roast lamb, beef or duck.
