Château du Bois 2013
Bordeaux AOC
Loading...
From Castillon next door to Saint Emilion, Château du Bois is a ripe, gently oaked claret, full of red fruit charm. 2013 really tested the skill of growers and winemakers, but grapes that eluded August's hail produced pretty, fruit forward clarets.

The Wine
The Côtes de Castillon is a part of Bordeaux that few have heard of, yet its vines run right up to those of Saint Emilion, with little dividing them bar a country lane. Château du Bois is a 14th century property, the extensive slopes of which look out across to fancier Saint Emilion names. Once a cultural hub, where poets met, today it focuses on vines and wines. Gently oaked, this is an attractive, supple, luncheon claret.
