Modern Portuguese reds offer originality, bags of style and great value. Four-Golds Cabra Cega is a new addition to our range from the much lauded Casa Santos Lima estate and is surely headed for the bestsellers list. Velvety, mouthfilling and long.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.
The Wine
Cabra Cega translates as Blind Goat and there is an interesting story about the name on the back label. But even more interesting is the wine itself. This irresistibly juicy red comes from Lisbon’s renowned Casa Santos Lima and Portugal’s ‘Best Young Winemaker 2016’, Diogo Sepúlveda. Having worked also in Pomerol and in the Barossa with heirloom Shiraz vines, his credentials for making this rich, old vine Portuguese red are second to none. Oz Clarke says the estate is one of the “best producers” of Castelão and Touriga Franca (in his book Grapes and Wines). These grapes combine here with Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah to spectacular effect. No surprise it already has four Gold medals. Enjoy with grilled steaks, shish kebabs or roast lamb.
