The Wine
For more than a decade, this Gold-medal winner has been the secret red of diners at a little back-street bistro in ancient Cahors. From a 5 Star vintage, Domaine d’Homs 2001 was never on the wine list, but a knowing nod to the waiter and a bottle would be brought to the table. Our Buyer Hilario noticed this when he popped in after a day on the road. He asked if he, too, could have a bottle of the Cahors. He was most taken with its smooth, mellow forest fruits and earthy savoury notes, so dropped by the estate on the off chance. Just 220 cases remained and he took the lot, but not a word to the locals please! The estate is the property of the Cauzit family and Les Chevaliers uses fruit from their oldest vines. A top red for game pie or lamb.

"Remarkable as it is rare. Silky complex 16 year old red from ancient Cahors. Claret lovers take note"
